Forgetting / Reasons

reasons
forgetting

For reasons of purely coming through association, the images on the left page and the one below are called “Forgetting” and “Reasons (Logic)”. The heads remind me of classic statues, like a portrait of some philosopher or someone who thinks he’s wise. Someone who’s perhaps come to ponder their failings, but instead of seeing a greater picture insisting on the way they perceive things as being the only truth. And thus drowning in ironic failure.

The images were rendered in pastels and warmer though slightly desaturated colours to explore the need to depict darker motives like existential angst in other ways than the obvious dark tones and tropes of violence.

All the elements that resemble human body parts have first been modeled in Z-Brush. Later on I added some elements, texturing and lighting in Cinema4d, rendering it all through Octane &  put some finishing touches on it in Photoshop.
