These two images are a depiction of what living with depression is like in certain days. The need to grasp control of your thoughts, behaviour and the general direction of life. Unable to make a decision, keeping all options open en yet trying to grasp a certainty that just does not exist.

It is also very much about trying to make something out of your life, about trying to make it clean and shiny and make a career or being somewhat socially successful.

The well meant advice of people to just simply let go, or take this route and be more like that, smile more, be more pro-active, to not take things personal, only add to the confusion. Furthering the concept that peace and acceptance, happiness are outside of the personal sphere, not to be found within because if it were you would have already found it, adding to the idea of being a failure who can't grasp the simplest ideas. It feels like life can only take place outside of you. It's a buzzing, chaotic and surreal mess.

All the elements that resemble human body parts have first been modeled in Z-Brush. Later on I added some elements, texturing and lighting in Cinema4d, rendering it all through Octane &  put some finishing touches on it in Photoshop.
